This is a really good Pakistani spessartine. The crystal is 1cm across and complete all around with no damage. The edges shine at a different angle than the faces, creating a beautiful effect when looking at it or rotating it. With some backlighting you can see that is gemmy and it sits on contrasting feldspar matrix. The piece used to be a large miniature that I acquire in Munich 2017 from a garnet collector: Spessartine – GreekRocks
I recently decided to risk trimming it and I was succesful! Now the balance of matrix to crystal size is much much better making for an excellent thumbnail. I purchased it for 280€ back then and I believe that the piece improved after trimming.
